# Lion Brain > Lion Brain is a free, private, portable memory that every AI you use can plug into: your conversations, ideas and projects in one place, owned by you. Own the brain, rent the models. Most AI companies keep your memory locked inside their own app, so switching assistants means starting from zero. Lion Brain keeps your memory in a private vault that belongs to you. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Codex and any AI that supports MCP connectors or web requests can connect to it with a single pasted prompt. Add Lion Brain once as a connector in your AI's settings, paste one prompt, and conversations are saved, organized into topics, and recalled across all your AIs. Your brain follows you from model to model and keeps growing, so any model can pick up any conversation where another left off. Files, photos and documents travel with it, you can call up pictures of the people you saved, a nightly pass tidies your memory, and you can ask in any language and still find notes written in another. Each AI gets its own revocable key, memories are labelled by source (you, an AI, or a saved note), and your memory is always exportable. Free to start. Made by Benny Labs Foundation, a nonprofit. ## What's new (October 10, 2026) - One-click Connect: in Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector with just https://brain.lionbrain.org/mcp, sign in, press Allow. No key to copy. - Every AI names itself (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex; a second Claude becomes "Claude 2"), and every chat is filed under the AI that saved it. - Download everything: one zip with chats and notes in Word, photos and videos in folders, and a full backup file. - Secrets never get saved: passwords, API keys and tokens are removed automatically before storage. - The Blackboard: a shared task board where one AI posts a task, another claims it, does it and reports back. - Free Roundtable: ask your connected AIs the same question and get each answer plus a summary and the disagreements. - A live picture of your brain on your dashboard. - Private sign-in with just your email, no password. Free: 1,000 requests a day, 100 MB, smart search included. ## Pages - [Home](https://lionbrain.org/): What Lion Brain is, how it works, features, how to connect an AI, and FAQ - [What's new](https://lionbrain.org/whats-new.html): Dated changelog in plain language - [Privacy](https://lionbrain.org/privacy.html): Plain-language privacy statement ## About - [Benny Labs Foundation](https://bennylabs.org): The nonprofit behind Lion Brain
